Our Mission: Discovery Church exists to joyfully proclaim the Gospel, to welcome all who seek God and the message of love and hope which Jesus brings, and to embody Christ’s love in service to our neighbors.
Our Vision: To be a vibrant, welcoming Christian community that invites all people into a transformational life of faith and that boldly proclaims and demonstrates the good news of God's saving grace and love through service to each other, our neighbors, and the world.
Discovery Church is a community of people who have been changed by the good news about Jesus Christ and now seek to follow and proclaim him in every aspect of our lives. We are a family of imperfect people, willing to meet each other where we are in our lives and in our walk with God.
We are a church with a spirit of innovation, willing to try new things and exhibiting a history of perseverance through times of trial. We are a church with a spirit of hospitality, where our members have a strong sense of belonging and care for each other. We encourage each other to share our individual talents, to actively listen and answer God’s call to serve his church.
The people of Discovery come from a wide variety of faith backgrounds. Some have attended a church all their lives. Some have never gone to a church, until recently. Others went to church as a kid but didn't really 'get it.' Some know alot about the Bible; others not much. But, all that it doesn't really matter. What matters is the desire to pursue God, no matter what your knowledge or background.
We never lose sight of the fact that many people come to church knowing very little about Jesus or the Bible. We do all that we can to make sure that no one feels left out. Whether you are a long-time believer or new to the faith or somewhere in between, there is a home for you here at Discovery Church.
Finally, we believe that God is active in our lives both as we gather together in his name and as we go about our daily lives. We remind each other of this truth in our benediction each week.
Wherever you go, God is sending you, wherever you are, God has put you there; He has a purpose in your being there. Christ who indwells you has something He wants to do through you, where you are. Believe this and go in His grace and love and power. Amen.
